The game has many names, such as Spanish 21, Treasury 21, Paradise 21 and the more worldly known name is Pontoon and it is a form of Blackjack that has been growing in popularity and can be basically found on every online casino in the industry. The game originates from Britain and is very close to the regular Blackjack we all know and love.
The game is originally derived from the French card game Vingt-et-un. Although there are some rule differences, learning them would be good before attempting to play Pontoon Blackjack. The object is for players to try to get closest to 21, without going over. Tonight I played inside Rushmore Casino and thankfully, it was as simple as Blackjack.
The first noticeable difference in Pontoon is that the dealer has no hole card. Both of the dealers cards are face down. After the cards are dealt, players still have the same options of hit, stand, double, and split, only in Pontoon some of those options are used but with a few different rules than in regular Blackjack.
For a complete list of rules, click on the rules button, located on the left side of the screen. Also on the bottom right hand side of the screen is the help button, click on that and rules are explained in better details.
When playing Pontoon, executing the perfect strategy is crucial and can result in the house having less than a 1% advantage over you, which is amazing when playing in a casino. If you have not tried Pontoon, come and try it over inside Rushmore Casino, if you don’t like, they have many more exciting games available for players to enjoy!
